Namibia 4th best country in Africa to visit with children

Namibia has been named the fourth best country in Africa to visit with children, while South Africa fared slightly better and came third. A study by the tour operator, Go2Africa, conducted the poll.

The Seychelles is the most child-friendly country in Africa and the world. It boasts the most family-friendly hotels, attractions and restaurants making it the preferred travel destination for parents. Morocco is second in Africa and Madagascar fifth.

According to Go2Africa families have a lot more to think about when they choose a vacation destination.

“They need to make sure that the area offers a good selection of family-friendly hotels, plenty of activities to keep their kids entertained, and a variety of restaurants that cater to picky eaters.”

Go2Africa said to help families find the perfect location for their next adventure, it therefore analyzed almost four thousand hotels, attractions and restaurants around the globe to discover the perfect spot to visit.

To conduct the study, Go2Africa first compiled a comprehensive list of all the countries around the world.

“We then gathered data on the number of family-friendly and 4 to 5-star rated hotels, attractions and restaurants from Tripadvisor. By calculating the percentage of family-friendly places relative to the total number of establishments, we determined the best destinations to visit with kids.”

It said that Africa boasts some of the most incredible environments and activities for families to explore with children.

“From expansive national parks that see young ones encounter exotic wildlife for the first time, to pristine beaches that are unlike any other in the world, there’s something for everyone.”

According to Go2Africa, coming in fourth place, Namibia is an excellent destination for families seeking adventure and unique experiences.

“Families can experience a thrilling Namibian safari in Etosha National Park, home to rare wildlife including elephants, lions, and giraffes, or explore the abundant wetlands of the Caprivi Stip.”

It added that many accommodations in Namibia offer kid-friendly programs, swimming pools, numerous activities, and interactive conservation experiences.

“The country is safe and most regions are malaria-free, making it ideal for family travel.”

According to the Tourist Statistical Report for 2023, 6.4% of tourist arrivals to Namibia of 863 872 were between the ages of 0 and 19-years old.
