Resuscitation by wine!

They say the secret to enjoying a good wine is to open the bottle to allow it to breathe. If it does not look like it is breathing, give it mouth-to-mouth!
Wine has become such an integral part of our society and way of life, compared to the days way back when, when it was only legally produced by the priests in Klein Windhoek. These days though, our Namibians vintners can challenge their South African counterparts in all senses, adding value to our local economy.
The resuscitation of this creative-wine economy in an arid and often drought-ridden desert is evidence of the spirit of profound passion and perseverance born, bred in the land of the brave.
So, if you have not yet experienced the Wine Growers Association’s viticulture and oenology experts’ selection of hardy, drought-resistant varietals from along the wine routes of Omaruru, at the edge of the Namib desert at Neuras, or from the heart of Otavi farmlands at Thonningi, now is your chance! Tantalize your taste buds with rare Colombard grapes, our unique white wine, red blends, the country's only rosé and other wine spirits – all on display at this year’s Namibian Tourism Expo.
Well-known South African brands from the popular wine cellars of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek as well as many others, can also be savoured.
Tasting tokens are available at Expo Information stands at various points throughout the Windhoek show grounds. Half of the funds generated from purchased tokens, will be donated to a charity as chosen by the Wine Growers Association and in support of responsible drinking education.
